I have never, ever, hoovered my mattress. And I will never. Even if I say to myself, "I hoover mattresses." (Although, I'm not at home right now, and I bet, when I next change my sheets, because of this and you - an annoying voice in my head is going to say "you hoover mattresses" and it will happen. If that does happen, I am coming straight back to you and we will use this new revelation for good - for changing the world and not for picking up plasters and hoovering mattresses!!!!!

I must try “I’m a tidy person.” I sometimes will feel too lazy to throw away something when I am one step away from the trash can. I figure “Future Me” can deal with it. No wonder Future Me is so stressed out. All the work I give her!

I know it works. Unfortunately. I've been cursed by that witchcraft. I mean, I'm a victim of this magic spell because in my case, it kind of distorted my life. I became obsessive about keeping my car clean, and I sank into car detailing so deeply. I rush to the carwash almost every week, wasting hours of my free time. I've spent a fortune on high-end Japanese car cosmetics and compulsively wipe away every speck of dust that lands on my dashboard. I find it impossible to give somebody a ride if my car isn't spotless. This is madness, but I love it!!! I've never received so many compliments in my life!!! And, of course, I pretend every time someone is in awe, utterly mesmerized by its flawless shine and gleaming finish, that it's nothing special ;) 'You must have spent ages cleaning this car!' Who, me?! Nah, you're kidding; I can't be bothered!'...Obviously, my fur-fountain, all-year-round shedding dog, Kava, is the main passenger in my car, so it's a piece of cake to clean the whole interior.

Oh Kava!! My car is a tip so I’m going to try telling myself ‘You are a clean car person’ to see if that helps. Hopefully I won’t spiral although I dream of a clean car compliment!

Vacuum a mattress? People DO that?

Well I'm starting to think that nobody does! Which obviously makes me feel better.

Seriously, vacuuming your mattress? Is this really a thing?

I've been trying the "I'm a tidy person" technique the last few days and I'm HORRIFIED that it works 😅😅 My 3 year old also heard me say it and it prompted him to repeat "I'm a tidy person" and put a toy away! Now I don't expect that to work more than once 😂 But was still a really special day 😂👌

It’s weird how well it works! I have never thought to get my son to say it. This could be truly life changing!
