Something about this topic and the way you write about it is deeply comforting. I especially love the bit about when you first saw your son. Maybe one of your other past lives was as a storyteller or bard? Though that’s not too far off your current life I suppose!
I really liked “coming back as a potato” because usually people name an insect or small squishy creature when talking about reincarnation. Not a lot of stress being a potato, especially if you’re one that gets forgotten in the back of a cupboard!
I was once told at a psychic reading that I used to be an Egyptian Queen that was into aromatherapy! I am actually quite into aromatherapy so maybe it’s true :D
I’ve always been open to any excuse for my innate blasé, so the idea of being a world-weary "old soul" because I’ve been through countless lives? Love that for me. But honestly, the whole reincarnation thing doesn’t quite add up in my head. Like... if we 'roll like a Polo' (big up to M.I.A.!) where do all these new souls come from with the population booming? Are we borrowing from the "soul bank" of extinct species or something? If we’re being reborn through generations, why do we, as humanity, keep repeating the same mistakes?
And then there’s the idea of someone—or something—in charge of the whole soul recycling system. Reward, punishment, karma, reincarnation... Who’s running this cosmic HR department? On the other hand, if it’s just some chaotic energy flow randomly spitting out souls, that’s even more unsettling. I'm leaning towards the idea of it being a mess of randomness, but I also don’t love the thought that it might be completely out of control and unfair. YOLO?;)
I agree there are some unanswered questions and logistical issues. I lean towards the idea that it's all very well organised by something that our brains aren't big enough to understand and that there is some kind of soul creation machine for new ones.
Apparently reincarnation is making a comeback.
Haha!

Maybe I was THE Bard?! Actually probably not, considering my dislike of Shakespeare's works. Thank you for your lovely comment.
I think you can aim higher than Shakespeare - what about Homer? I’m seeing parallels between the trials of Odysseus and Challenge Annabel
😂

I’d seen being a potato as a bad thing but you’ve reframed that for me now and I quite fancy it!

This is the kind of past life to have!

I would pay a lot of money to see you milk a cow.
Haha!
I love a PPPS.
As a teen I would sometimes reach a PPPPPPPPS in letters, which makes me want to start writing letters again.
